Formation Care Ministry
Retreats for Life Renewal©
Matthew 11:28 (from The Message version of Scripture)28-30"Are
you tired? Worn out? Burned out on religion? Come to me. Get away
with me and you'll recover your life. I'll show you how to take a
real rest. Walk with me and work with me—watch how I do it. Learn
the unforced rhythms of grace. I won't lay anything heavy or
ill-fitting on you. Keep company with me and you'll learn to live
freely and lightly."
We have witnessed an essential value missing from the lives of those
in ministry—something that is taken for granted and often
neglected—personal participation in Sabbath rest.
Despite the physical, emotional, and spiritual need for rest,
pastors lose sight of the importance of Sabbath rest and it is
common for a pastor’s health to take second place to other things
that have become “more important” in their ministry.
In light of what we have observed Jehovah Jireh Ministries is
responding to the ongoing need for a healthy ministerial community.
We believe that God has raised up the JJM Formation Care
Ministry so that we can continue reaching out to those in ministry
that have the desire to refresh and renew their spirit by resting in
the Lord.
Our hope for the Formation Care Ministry is to meet the needs of
pastors and their spouses, as the experience the pleasure of
searching for something they may have lost along the way—daily joy
in the Lord.
Retreats for Life Renewal focus on holistic formation care, building
upon the renewal of the spiritual, emotional, and physical health of
God’s people, pastoral couples, and married couples working in
ministries such as church pastors, missions, youth ministry, and
camp ministries.
Our ministry team is comprised of pastors, as well as others in
various fields of ministry who can contribute to this program.
The Retreats for Life Renewal are held at retreat centers in a
central region that allows pastors from area churches to attend. We
do our best to keep the cost of the retreat to a minimum without
sacrificing the quality of spiritual, emotional, and physical
renewal and refreshment.
Due to the economic situation in our country, many pastors and
pastoral couples need this type of retreat but their churches cannot
afford to send them. We
encourage other churches and friends of Jehovah Jireh Ministries to
reach out and financially support this ministry to allow their
brothers and sisters to experience the retreat without financial
hardship. If you are interested in contributing to the program,
please notify Ginny Proctor at
jjmginny@jehovahjirehministries.com.
Help us to help the pastoral community become a spiritually,
emotionally, and physically renewed body of ministers in Christ that
gain new energy and have a revitalized Spirit for building a healthy
Kingdom of God.
This program is funded by contribution.
